Having spent most of my childhood swimming competitively - and frequently getting injured – I decided to train as a physiotherapist, qualifying in 1992 from Cardiff University.
I went on to work for the NHS around the UK for a few years, followed by two years working in Chicago, USA, returning home to set up and run a brand-new Hydrotherapy service within a Nottinghamshire college for people with disabilities. Whilst there I completed the intensive Bath Hydrotherapy Course and gained the title “Hydrotherapist” – or “Aquatic Therapist”, as it is now known.
In 2002 I set up “Hydrotherapy @ Nirvana” and opened a physiotherapy clinic at Pulse 8. After a few years spent practicing and expanding our family, I started working with the Howard Clinic in 2006, specialising in Hydrotherapy.
My other area of specialism is treating back conditions, following the “Sarah Key Method” of treatment – a renowned technique originating in Australia. I completed Stage 1 in 2008 and went on to become an Accredited Practitioner in 2009.
I like to keep on top of the latest techniques and developments in Physiotherapy by attending courses whenever possible.
I have three children – Maddy, Patrick & Finn – and a young puppy named Bertie, who all manage to keep me very busy!
